St. Crescent

St. Crescent

The remains of St. Crescent

A depiction of the young boy St. Crescent, made from wax and encased in an altar. The boy is laying down on his back, with his head cushioned and facing the viewer. He is clothed in a white, silky tunic and sandals. The original remains (bones) are encased in the wax and can be seen through lacerations in the forehead and forearm. A plaque behind the boy is partially obscured, but likely reads "Cresces," the latin version of "Crescent."
